Our days at Hidden Creek!

On the bus drive to Hidden Creek many kilometres passed,
We then met the instructors, all thriving with happiness,
Our first challenge was making camp; it was as easy as a swift wind,

The end of the day was finally reached,
As bed time was fastly approaching, giggles, laughs, rummaging through tents,
As High Hippy Ville was hit by a rush of excitement,

The new days had finally come, the sun camp up as bright as a bright light,
New activities had finally come, the groups had fun and the activities were fun,
As the end of Hidden Creek had slowly approached an end.

Analysing

The subject matter of this poem is about how we went to Hidden Creek and the experiences that we faced along the way.
Evidence: The title ‘Our days at Hidden Creek’ gives an excellent insight about the poem.

The poet wants to communicate what Hidden Creek was like and the challenges that we faced along the way.
Evidence: ‘…….Our first challenge…..’ This communicates about the challenge that we faced at camp.

The predominant emotion throughout this poem is happiness.
Evidence: ‘……Rush of excitement….’ This shows that we were happy and glad to be there.

I believe the poem successfully achieves its purpose because it is about Hidden Creek and it successfully gives an insight. This poem leaves me with a better sense of happiness towards Hidden Creek.
